Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project. The pipeline is expected to reach the city of Herat
Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed issues related to the implementation of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. This was emphasized during a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Khoja Ovezov, and Afghanistan’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Hidayatullah Badri.
Khoja Ovezov provided information on the current stage of the project’s implementation as well as on planned future activities. This was reported by the TOLOnews agency on Sunday.
The parties expressed hope that the construction of the gas pipeline up to the Afghan city of Herat would be completed by the end of this year.
Once the construction is completed, Afghanistan is expected to receive more than 1 billion US dollars in annual revenue.
