The Beautiful Valley of Türkiye

Located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Türkiye is considered one of the richest countries in terms of natural wonders and tourism centers. Pamukkale, Antalya, Kemer, Bodrum, Marmaris, Ephesus, and Istanbul are among the country's most beautiful locations; however, Cappadocia attracts particular public attention. Cappadocia, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2003 (originally 1985), is famous for the Göreme Valley. Covering an area of 99 square kilometers, this valley is one of the most visited tourist destinations. Türkiye's romantic valley is distinguished by its white landscapes, cave city, steep cliffs, and hot air balloons. Famous for its red rock formations with "crowned" tops known as "Peri Bacaları" (Fairy Chimneys), Cappadocia is one of the most beautiful valleys on Earth. According to scientists, these magnificent rocks were formed over thousands of years as a result of volcanic eruptions and the erosive effects of rain and wind. The name "Cappadocia" originates from the Persian word "Katpatukya," meaning "the land of beautiful horses." Around the 1200s, certain tribes began carving dwellings into the rocks. These cave-like houses, complete with doors, windows, and stairs, resemble works of art. There are also luxury cave hotels available for tourists in Cappadocia. This attractive region hosts seasonal balloon festivals and various special events.
