Future prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and WHO discussed

Yesterday, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Bashimova and Hans Kluge, Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of mutual cooperation. It was noted that the training seminar on health diplomacy conducted in the CIS space is the first program of its kind, which Turkmenistan is successfully implementing as a host country.
The parties also discussed the draft Road Map for supporting health and well-being in Central Asia for 2026–2030.
Additionally, the implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in Turkmenistan, issues of public health emergency preparedness within the "One Health" concept, and matters concerning the promotion of the Caspian Environmental Initiative were discussed.
Hans Kluge was invited to participate in major regional and international forums planned to be held during 2026.
