The 26-year partnership between Huawei and Turkmenistan is entering a new stage of digital transformation. Through 5G, VoLTE, AI, and smart city solutions, the country is strengthening its digital economy. Huawei is also contributing to the development of future local tech talent.
The booth of the world-renowned Chinese company "Huawei" has become one of the most visited locations at the exhibition held in our capital. Yang Silong, the chief representative of the company in Turkmenistan, praised the role of "Huawei" in the country's strategy for transitioning to a digital economy.
The main difference between "Huawei" and other technology manufacturers is its "zero to one hundred percent" working principle. As Yang Silong emphasized:
- The company does not depend on any external manufacturers.
- Chipsets, data storage systems, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions are developed solely by its own specialists.
The launch of the 5G network in the "smart" city of Arkadag in 2025 is the greatest indicator of this partnership. Plans are now in place to expand these technologies to the provinces:
- Expanding 4G and 5G: High-speed internet will be accessible in all regions of Turkmenistan.
- VoLTE Technology: This solution allows users to make clearer, high-quality voice calls without reducing internet speeds.
5G is not just about speed; it is the foundation for industrial digitalization. It is essential for:
- Smart Transport: Precise real-time monitoring of bus movements.
- Digital Billing: Automation of payment systems.
- Artificial Intelligence: Data analysis and management optimization.
"Huawei" acts not only as an equipment supplier but also as an educational representative. Under the "Golden Seeds" program, 10 Turkmen students participated in international competitions in China, showcasing their high level of education. This is evidence that the country's technological future will be in the hands of local specialists.
