The Russian Film Festival is taking place in Ashgabat at the “Arkaç” cinema from March 27 to 29. The program features new and engaging films: “Buratino,” “Doctor Dinozavrov,” “Gnomes’ Treasure,” and “The Frog Princess.” The event promotes cultural exchange.
On March 27–29, Ashgabat will host the Russian Film Festival with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the "ROSKINO" organization. This cultural event will be held at the cinema located in the "Arkach" shopping and entertainment center.
The festival is a continuation of annual film screenings and aims to develop intercultural exchange and promote the achievements of modern Russian cinema in Turkmenistan. The festival platform also serves as an effective means of strengthening bilateral humanitarian cooperation. This year, the organizers have placed special emphasis on new films that have received high praise from critics and audiences alike.
The festival program includes:
- "Buratino" (2025, dir. Igor Voloshin) — a family film about the wooden boy, based on the famous fairy tale by Alexei Tolstoy. This film will open the festival;
- "Doctor Dinozavrov" (2025, dir. Maxim Volkov) — an exciting animated film about the life of schoolboy Phil Dinozavrov;
- "Treasures of the Gnomes" (2025, dir. Alexander Babaev, Vasily Rovensky) — an adventure fantasy film. In it, a resourceful but cunning young man named Roma writes his name into an elderly neighbor's will and unexpectedly inherits live gnomes along with the house;
- "The Frog Princess" (2025, dir. Alexander Amirov) — a colorful family film based on the famous fairy tale.
