First High-Level "Republic of Korea — Central Asia" Summit to be Held in September

On September 16–17 this year, the first high-level summit between the Republic of Korea and Central Asian states will be held. Leaders from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan will participate. The summit will help deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, diversify supply chains, and effectively support Korean communities in the region.
On September 16–17 of this year, the first-ever high-level summit between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian states will be held with the participation of Heads of State. The summit dates were announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Tae-yul (Cho Hyun), during a preparatory meeting held in Seoul on Thursday.
According to the "Yonhap" news agency, the Heads of State of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan will attend the meeting.
The head of the foreign policy department of the Republic of Korea noted that the upcoming meeting would be a significant step in expanding South Korea's diplomatic capabilities and strengthening relations with Central Asian states.
According to the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, the summit's format will provide extensive opportunities to deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as to establish the foundations for partnership in diversifying supply chains and providing more effective support to Korean communities living in the region.
