As previously reported, on February 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. The meeting summarized the results of the work carried out in the sectors of the country's economy in 2025 and reviewed issues related to the upcoming tasks for 2026.
During the meeting, it was stated that in accordance with the "Program for Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan in 2026," it is planned to build and commission residential buildings with a total area of more than 900 thousand square meters, general education institutions for 3,380 students, and preschool child care institutions for 1,080 children this year.
In this regard, the Head of State noted that this year 30 residential buildings and numerous trade and service centers in the "Parahat — 7" residential complex of Ashgabat, 46 modern residential buildings in the residential complex of the Buzmeyin district, 127 two-story cottage-type residential buildings in Ashgabat, and a multi-purpose cultural center for 4,000 people will be handed over for operation. Furthermore, the International Pediatric Center, International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, and a Dental Center will be opened in Ashgabat, while a new complex of buildings for 400 people will start serving citizens at the "Archman" sanatorium.
In addition, the Mary — Turkmenabat section of the Ashgabat — Turkmenabat high-speed highway, a new modern village in the Gyzylarbat district of the Balkan region, a multi-purpose power plant in the Gyzylarbat district, and a complex of residential houses and buildings in the Guvlymayak settlement of the Turkmenbashy district will be commissioned this year. The new building complexes of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi will also be ceremoniously opened. To improve the living conditions of the population, significant funds will be allocated for the construction of highways, communication, water, gas, and electricity supply systems, as well as water and sewage treatment plants.
