Russia has extended the temporary ban on the export of technical sulfur until June 30, 2026. The measure aims to stabilize the domestic market and support mineral fertilizer production.
The Russian Government has extended the temporary ban on the export of technical sulfur, a vital raw material for the production of mineral fertilizers. This was reported by the press service of the RF Cabinet of Ministers.
"According to the signed decree, the restriction applies to the export of liquid, granulated, and lump sulfur. It will remain in effect until June 30, 2026. At the same time, low-quality sulfur can be exported without restrictions based on a confirmation issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade," the report notes.
The government emphasized that this decision will help stabilize the supply of raw materials to the domestic market, maintaining the current level of mineral fertilizer production and ensuring the country's food security.
Furthermore, according to the report, the temporary restriction does not apply to the following cases:
- Supplies to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia;
- Cargo sent for humanitarian aid;
- International transit shipments;
- Goods intended to support the activities of Russian organizations on the Spitsbergen archipelago.
The temporary restriction on technical sulfur exports has been in effect since November 1, 2025.
