New Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Received at the Mejlis

The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country, Hamdy Shaaban Abdelhalim Mohamedi. During the meeting, held on behalf of the Head of State, views were exchanged on developing inter-parliamentary relations and elevating the friendly ties between the two countries to a new level. The head of the Mejlis congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and wished him success in his responsible duties. The Egyptian diplomat was briefed on Turkmenistan’s peace-loving foreign policy and the ongoing efforts of the national parliament to modernize the legislative framework. Both parties confirmed that intensifying cooperation in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian sectors is mutually beneficial. At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador gave assurances that he would make every effort to strengthen interstate relations.
