Maral Gullyyeva, a student at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, has developed a technology for producing paints from natural sulfur. Sulfur extracted from the "Galkynysh" gas field was used as the primary raw material.

The research, conducted at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Ecology, has been registered with the State Service for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan. Official Turkmen media reported this on Friday.

The process consists of producing sulfuric acid, reacting it with aluminum to form aluminum sulfate, and adding gypsum, lime, and other components to synthesize durable paint and adhesive compositions. Tests showed that these compositions possess antiseptic properties, are resistant to external factors, and are completely safe for humans and the environment.

This development opens new opportunities for Turkmenistan's chemical and oil and gas industries. The production is economically viable, does not require complex equipment, and will contribute to import substitution in the construction, textile, leather, and paper industries by utilizing domestic resources.
