As previously reported, official negotiations were conducted between the National Leader of the Turkmen People and representatives of Afghanistan regarding the final construction phase of the "Arkadagyň Ak Ýoly" Serhetabat–Herat segment of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

According to statements published in the Turkmenistan newspaper, a total of 123 kilometers of the pipeline's current phase have already been laid, while active construction continues on the remaining segment exceeding 30 kilometers.

Shatlyk Myradov, head of the 5th Specialized Assembly Directorate of the "Türkmengündogarnebitgurluşyk" trust, noted that completed sections are undergoing rigorous hydrostatic testing. More than 120 specialists and workers are actively engaged on site to deliver Turkmen natural gas to the historic city of Herat.

The implementation of the TAPI project brings significant foreign investment to neighboring Afghanistan, fostering transport and communications infrastructure while improving social and economic living conditions across the region.
