In 2025, China imported Turkmen natural gas worth a total of $8.41 billion. This was reported on Tuesday by the TASS news agency, citing China’s General Administration of Customs.
Currently, about 40 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas are exported to China annually via the A, B, and C lines of the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline. Once Line D is fully commissioned, export volumes are planned to increase to 65 billion cubic meters per year, enhancing the stability of gas supplies.
Earlier this year, China’s CNPC company will begin the industrial development of the fourth phase of the world’s largest gas field, Galkynysh. The designed capacity of this phase is 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
In addition, from January to November this year, mutual trade turnover between Turkmenistan and China exceeded $9.164 billion.
