In 2026, the construction of several important transport infrastructure facilities will be completed and put into operation in Turkmenistan. This was reported in the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper published on Tuesday.
Among the priority projects are a new railway station and a bus terminal in the city of Arkadag, as well as facilities related to maritime and warehouse management. In the maritime transport sector, it is planned to commission two cargo ships and one dredger.
In addition, the "Program for Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan in 2026" includes the construction of a modern warehouse complex in the "dry port" of the Turgundi railway station, as well as the addition of a new "Ro-Ro" type vessel to the maritime fleet.
As noted in the report, new transit routes will also be created within the framework of Turkmenistan's transport strategy for 2026, which will further strengthen Turkmenistan's position as an international transport hub. The country's effective investment policy contributes to increasing freight turnover volumes and the efficient use of Turkmenistan's strategic geographical location.
Furthermore, the Mary – Turkmenabat section of the Ashgabat – Turkmenabat high-speed highway will be opened and put into use in 2026.
