A New Era of Digital Economy Development in Turkmenistan: State Program for 2026–2028

To ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined in the “Concept for the Development of Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2026–2028” and to develop a high-tech, competitive digital economy through the extensive deployment of digital systems, the “State Program for the Development of Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2026–2028” and the plan of measures for its implementation have been approved in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan.

Within the program, large-scale projects will be implemented to modernize telecommunications infrastructure and introduce modern communication technologies. In particular, it is planned to expand the management and authority systems of the mobile operator “Altyn Asyr” and to implement fifth-generation communication technologies (5G) in Ashgabat and the national tourist zone “Awaza.”

At the same time, it is planned to provide regional and district centers, as well as cities, with 4G+ standard communication, and to expand the coverage of 4G networks. Considering the growing demand for Internet services among the population and organizations in various sectors of the economy, as well as the active implementation of digital platforms and e-services, the capacity of the existing hardware-technical complexes of the Internet infrastructure will be increased.
