
On May 20, 2026, a presentation event dedicated to the results of the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition, which took place in Ashgabat in April this year, was organized in Beijing by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People's Republic of China. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The solemn event was attended by diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC, representatives of the Trade Representation under the Embassy, leaders of the China Overseas Development Association, the China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center, as well as representatives of state institutions and the private sector of the two countries.
Speaking at the opening of the event, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan P. Durdyev introduced the participants to important financial projects implemented in various sectors of our country's economy, as well as products of local manufacturers demonstrated at the exhibition in Ashgabat. Based on the results of the negotiations, the Ambassador invited Chinese partners to invest in Turkmen projects and to vitalize export-import operations. Furthermore, detailed information was provided regarding the measures planned by the ministries and sectoral agencies of Turkmenistan.
Zhou Lin, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Demonstration Zone and Mayor of Jiaozhou City; Jiang Yun, Secretary-General of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA); and Li Jiang, Director of the China-Turkmenistan Cultural Center, also delivered speeches during the presentation ceremony.
The speaking parties specifically highlighted the high organizational level of the thematic sessions, as well as the meetings in B2B and B2G formats organized within the framework of the Ashgabat forum, and discussed new directions of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Along with this, it was emphasized that new projects for modernizing production and introducing digital systems were presented during the business meetings, resulting in the signing of several Memorandums on bilateral cooperation.
Representatives of the China Overseas Development Association confirmed their readiness to regularly organize the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition on an annual basis with the aim of further strengthening trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
