A Regular Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Was Held
Under the chairmanship of our Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held via a digital system. During the meeting, several important issues related to state life were discussed, such as improving the legislative framework of our country, modernizing the state sectors of the economy, organized conduct of seasonal agricultural works, and preparing for glorious dates and international events.
At the meeting, a report on the work being carried out to bring national legislation into line with the requirements of the era was heard first. Currently, based on the proposals of relevant ministries and sectoral departments, systematic work is underway to introduce necessary amendments and additions to the Arbitration Procedure, Labor, Sanitary, Family, and Housing Codes of Turkmenistan, as well as to laws related to military service, administrative production, and judicial activities. In addition, great preparations are being made for the scientific-practical conference to be held on the occasion of the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag. Our Head of State especially emphasized the importance of developing new draft laws that meet the requirements of the time.
Concrete measures are also being implemented to develop the national standardization system and the geological industry. In order to modernize the operations of the laboratories of the "Turkmenstandartlary" Main State Service and to strengthen the quality control of goods, effective cooperation is being carried out with foreign companies. Similarly, proposals to improve the material and technical base of the "Turkmengeologiya" State Corporation and to effectively continue drilling operations for oil and gas exploration wells at the sites in the western region of our country were approved.
In the agricultural sector, work on caring for cotton-planted areas in accordance with agrotechnical standards and improving the reclamation condition of lands by cleaning drainage channels is currently continuing at a rapid pace. Also, in order to carry out the approaching grain harvest season without loss and disruption, work is being done by the Ministry of Automobile Transport to prepare cargo vehicles on time. In the velayats, spring vegetable and melon crops are being cared for, and measures are being taken to harvest the produced cocoon crop.
A special place was given to the cultural and mass celebrations to be held in our capital Ashgabat and throughout the country. On May 24-25, the XXV multifaceted international exhibition and conference titled "My White City Ashgabat" will be organized, where issues of developing our capital in accordance with the "smart city" concept will be discussed. Also, on May 25, the "Last Bell" ceremonies on the occasion of the completion of the academic year will be held at a high organizational level in all secondary schools of our country. Within the framework of international cooperation, proposals for Turkmenistan's high-level participation in the "Green Expo — 2027" international horticultural exhibition, which will be held in 2027 in Yokohama, Japan, were approved. To increase the accessibility of electronic publications to the population, the legislative foundations of the publishing system are being strengthened.
At the meeting, the results of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation were also highly praised. During the visit, meetings were held with RF President Vladimir Putin, Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and other officials, and agreements were reached to bring cooperation in transport-logistics, trade-economic, and educational spheres to new heights. Also, Turkmenistan's inclusion in the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) as an observer country became a historic event. Among the upcoming international events, it was noted that thorough preparations are being made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to be held in Ashgabat on May 22.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State wholeheartedly congratulated everyone on the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan, which will be celebrated on May 18, spreading the cohesion and unity of our people to the whole world, and wished great success in the work carried out for the prosperity of our sovereign Motherland.
