A delegation from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit at the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. During the visit, the parties discussed ways to develop cooperation in trade, transport logistics, and investment.

During the negotiations, the Afghan side put forward an initiative to establish a new transit transport corridor along the Turkmenabat — Mazar-e-Sharif route. This project is aimed at developing transit communications between the northern regions of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the railway system, and other transport structures of Turkmenistan participated in the meetings. The parties discussed issues related to reducing trade barriers, developing infrastructure around the Akina and Turgundi border checkpoints, expanding joint investments, and deepening cooperation in the oil, gas, and energy sectors.

The Afghan business community invited a delegation of 100 Turkmen entrepreneurs and investors to visit Afghanistan to more closely explore trade and logistics opportunities.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan stated its support for this initiative and confirmed its readiness to consistently develop bilateral business relations.

According to experts, Turkmenistan plays an important role in ensuring energy security in the region and implementing large-scale infrastructure projects. These include projects such as the TAPI (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India) gas pipeline and joint power transmission systems.

The creation of the new transit corridor can contribute to expanding trade turnover between the two countries, increasing logistical capabilities, and developing the transport and communication system in the region.
