
On 10 February 2026, in Bangkok at the Amphorn Royal Palace, a ceremony was held during which Ambassador M. Mashalov presented his credentials to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Thailand (with residence in Kuala Lumpur). This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the King of Thailand on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The King congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to this responsible post and wished him great success. He also emphasized his intention to pay a visit to Turkmenistan in the future.
Turkmenistan’s interest in developing cooperation with the Kingdom of Thailand in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas was also reaffirmed.
Following the credentials ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Sihasak Phuangketkeo, held a brief meeting with the newly appointed ambassadors. During the conversation, the Thai Foreign Minister expressed readiness to provide assistance and support in carrying out the Ambassador’s diplomatic activities.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts at the level of the foreign policy agencies of the two countries in order to further strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand.
