
On February 19, 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of India, Sh. Geldynazarov, and the Vice-President for Development and Sports of the Indigenous Horse Society of India, Sarpartap Singh. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the horse-breeding industry. The Ambassador spoke about the work being carried out at the state level to breed Akhal-Teke horses in Turkmenistan. Noting that the year 2026 has been named "Independent, Everlasting Neutral Turkmenistan — the Land of Horse-paced Progress," he mentioned that significant events are being held under this motto, including the nationwide celebration of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse every April.
Sarpartap Singh introduced the activities of the Indigenous Horse Society of India and emphasized that there are great opportunities for establishing cooperation in the horse-breeding sector.
