
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to India, Shalar Geldynazarov, attended a diplomatic dinner organized at the US Embassy in New Delhi. The meeting was held within the framework of the "C5+1" dialogue platform, which brings together the United States and the five Central Asian states.
The event was hosted by Sergio Gor, the US Special Representative for South and Central Asia. In addition to the Turkmen diplomat, the meeting was attended by the ambassadors of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan accredited to India.
Regarding the outcome of the meeting, Sergio Gor shared a post on his X social media account: "So pleased to host the Ambassadors of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan for dinner. Under the leadership of President Donald Trump, the United States maintains regular engagement with our Central Asian partners. We had very productive discussions on areas of mutual cooperation."
The dinner was organized as a continuation of active diplomatic talks between Washington and Ashgabat. In January 2026, Sergio Gor visited Turkmenistan, where he met with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on January 23. On the same day, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Sergio Gor and US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll. During the meeting, the parties discussed trade and economic cooperation, regional security issues, and bilateral relations.
