An event dedicated to the motto of 2026 and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tajikistan

On February 13, 2026, an event was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan dedicated to the declaration of 2026 as the year of "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Land of Horses Swift as Dreams" and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports of Tajikistan, the "Tajik Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries," representatives of the Turkmen diaspora living in Tajikistan, Turkmen students studying at higher education institutions in Tajikistan, members of the intelligentsia, and Embassy staff.

During the speeches, the significance of the 2026 motto was emphasized. It was noted that the inclusion of the Akhal-Teke horse-breeding art and traditions of horse decoration in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, along with the international achievements of the "Galkynysh" national equestrian games group, serves as a sign of global recognition of Turkmen horse-breeding art.

Furthermore, a detailed overview was provided regarding the country's achievements during the years of Independence and the events to be held throughout 2026 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Independence at a high level.

Subsequently, guests visited a photo and book exhibition organized in the Embassy building. They viewed works of applied art depicting the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses and creative photographic works. Visitors closely examined the books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

At the end of the event, participants were served Turkmen national dishes.
