On February 13, 2026, an event dedicated to the motto of 2026 “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the land of horses swift as dreams” and the presentation ceremony of the book by the President of Turkmenistan titled “Neutrality of Turkmenistan — a clear path of peace and trust” were held at the building of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the head of the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, Turkmen students studying at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, as well as Embassy staff.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh. Meredov, noted that the motto of 2026 is a logical continuation of 2025 — the International Year of Peace and Trust. It was also emphasized that the content of the current motto is conditioned by the Turkmen people's historical commitment to their spiritual and cultural values, as well as by modern global circumstances.
Furthermore, the significance of Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2028 as the International Year of International Law was highlighted. This initiative demonstrates the country's commitment to the principles of international law and the rule of law.
During the event, the book by the President of Turkmenistan “Neutrality of Turkmenistan — a clear path of peace and trust” was presented to the participants, along with an explanation of its conceptual and practical content. It was emphasized that the publication reveals the legal and political foundations of neutrality, its role in ensuring regional and global stability, and Turkmenistan's contribution to promoting a culture of peace and trust.
At the end of the event, participants were served Turkmen national dishes.
