Within the framework of ongoing work on the phased improvement of customs posts along international transport corridors passing through the territory of Turkmenistan, construction and renovation works have been successfully completed at the "Artyk" and "Garabogaz" customs posts. According to the official website of the State Customs Service, as a result of the radical transformations carried out, the total area of these posts has been expanded, and their cargo and transport capacity has been raised to the level of international standards. In addition, new social and technical buildings were constructed, and existing facilities were completely renovated.
Equipped with modern inspection equipment and innovative digital technologies, the new customs posts guarantee reliable and fast inspection of goods and vehicles crossing the border. Currently, the automatic monitoring of all operations through a digital system from the moment vehicles enter the customs zone allows for significant savings in the time spent on clearance procedures.
The results of international analyses show that Turkmenistan has taken a leading position in the Central Asian region, achieving the shortest time indicators for the execution of customs operations. The launch of the modernized "Artyk" and "Garabogaz" posts, which hold a strategic position in our country's foreign trade turnover and transit cargo transportation, will provide a major boost to further increasing the capacity of international and multimodal transport corridors.
