
The capital of Turkmenistan is becoming the hub of significant political events within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). According to a Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan, the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government will be held in Ashgabat on May 22, 2026.
This meeting is organized as part of the implementation of the Concept of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the Commonwealth for 2026. According to the document, the tasks of organizing the event at a high level have been assigned to the Department of Management of the President's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agenda of the meeting focuses on the further development of economic, trade, and humanitarian relations among the CIS member states. Organizational efforts will be coordinated in collaboration with the CIS Executive Committee.
This forum in Ashgabat is a clear testament to Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality and its confident steps toward strengthening peace, stability, and mutually beneficial cooperation in the region. The gathering of the Heads of Government in our capital will provide momentum for defining new directions in multilateral diplomacy.
