
In the modern era, great importance is attached to the development of vocational education at a modern level in countries worldwide. This has a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the country and also serves as a source for the reproduction of the labor force. In this regard, developing the education system on an innovative basis is one of the strategically important issues in our country. In the current conditions of a developing data-driven digital economy, offering new types of educational services allows, first and foremost, for meeting the ever-increasing demands and needs of economic sectors regarding the quality of the labor force.
The current development of our country is characterized by the digitalization of the economy. Digital transformations have a positive impact not only on the content but also on the quality of labor market relations. Adapting the labor market to these transformations is considered a vital issue of the modern era. For the successful implementation of the work to adapt the labor market to modern digital transformations, it is important for the state to develop effective measures to keep pace with the development of the digital age. The skills required in the 21st century and the ability to respond quickly to changes occurring in scientific and technical progress create a competitive advantage for the labor force.
Recently, the manual titled "Atlas of Professions of the Future," prepared by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, was published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service. This atlas, in accordance with the "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052" approved by Decree No. 1570 issued by our honorable President on October 17, 2025, serves as a guide to the sectors and professions that will have broad opportunities in the short and medium term for training specialists with higher education. It will help in understanding which professions and sectors will actively emerge in the future, what new technologies, products, and management practices will arise within them, and which professions will be necessary in the labor market.
