Striker Karim Benzema has officially transferred from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal. The 38-year-old French player signed a contract with the Riyadh club until June 2027, according to Al-Hilal’s press service.
Earlier, it was reported that disagreements arose between Benzema and Al-Ittihad’s management. The club offered him a contract without a base salary, including only bonuses. Such terms did not satisfy the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, and he decided to change clubs.
Recall that in the summer of 2023, Benzema joined Al-Ittihad as a free agent from Real Madrid. With the team, he became the Saudi Arabian champion and won the King’s Cup. The French forward scored 54 goals and provided 17 assists in 83 appearances for the Jeddah club.
Currently, Al-Hilal leads the Saudi Pro League standings with 47 points. Al-Ittihad is sixth with 34 points, while Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr club is second with 46 points.
