
Yesterday, under the leadership of Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held, focusing on the results of the first four months of this year and the priority directions of the country's socio-economic development. The results of the reporting period showed that Turkmenistan's economic potential is steadily increasing, and high milestones are being achieved in all sectors.
Economy: Sustainable Development and Macro Indicators As of the end of January-April 2026, Turkmenistan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth remained stable at 6.3%. Growth rates by sectors were as follows:
The revenue side of the state budget was implemented at 100.2%; salaries, pensions, and student stipends were financed on time. Additionally, the volume of utilized investments across the country increased by 5% compared to last year.
Industry and Energy Complex Positive indicators were also recorded in the country's fuel and energy complex. The State Concern "Türkmennebit" fulfilled the oil production plan by 107.1% and the natural gas production plan by 106.7%. Notably, high results were achieved in liquefied gas production (122.1%) and gasoline production (113.7%). In the construction-industrial complex, the State Concern "Türkmenhimiýa" led with a figure of 154%.
Agriculture and Equestrian Art The growth rate in the agricultural sector stood at 107.5%. Currently, maintenance work in cotton fields and preparations for the grain harvest are continuing intensively. During the meeting, special importance was given to enhancing the worldwide fame of Akhal-Teke horses. In this regard, the participation of Turkmen horse breeders and horses in the "Pearl of the East" international event in Tashkent and the Windsor Horse Show in London was discussed.
Culture, Education, and Healthcare During the reporting period, Turkmen students and schoolchildren won a total of 807 medals in international Olympiads. In sports competitions, members of the national team were awarded 169 medals. During the meeting, following a noble tradition, the Head of State signed a Resolution on gifting laptops to pupils entering the 1st grade of secondary schools. It was also noted that the exhibition titled "Ancient Civilizations of Turkmenistan" held in Rome, Italy, was successfully concluded.
International Relations and Diplomacy Turkmenistan's foreign policy is actively developing on a bilateral and multilateral basis. During this year, a total of 220 foreign delegations visited Turkmenistan. In the upcoming month of May, the Turkmen delegation is expected to participate in the "Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum" international economic forum in Kazan, Tatarstan, and the World Urban Forum in Baku.
Concluding the meeting, the Honorable President emphasized that the achieved results are proof that the country's development programs are on the right track and gave specific instructions to all leaders to perform their duties with high quality.
