Laughter helps lower arterial blood pressure and improves the elasticity of cardiac blood vessels, according to Russian cardiologist and Candidate of Medical Sciences Yevgeny Kokin in an interview with Life.ru. Kokin noted that laughter also aids in normalizing heart rate and relieving chronic stress, which is one of the primary triggers for hypertension.
According to the physician, laughter cannot replace cardiovascular medication and should not be considered an independent treatment method. Kokin emphasized that the positive effect of laughter is not an instantaneous fix, but rather a long-term benefit achieved through regular practice.
