
On February 10, 2026, a ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to award representatives of international organizations with the jubilee medal “30 Years of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality.” This was reported on the MFA of Turkmenistan’s website.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov read out the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on awarding foreign citizens with the jubilee medal “30 Years of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality” and a commemorative silver badge, and ceremoniously presented the state awards to representatives of international organizations.
The high state awards were received by UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitriy Shlapachenko and UN Development Programme Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Saakyan.
Addressing the participants, the Minister noted that the country’s policy of permanent neutrality has gained wide international recognition due to the specific and purposeful diplomatic efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
It was emphasized that, based on the legal status of neutrality, Turkmenistan consistently expands mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries and major international organizations, implementing joint projects in various fields.
In this regard, it was particularly noted that, alongside Turkmen citizens, foreign nationals have made a significant contribution to strengthening Turkmenistan’s independence and permanent neutrality, enhancing international cooperation, and promoting and supporting the policy of international peace and trust worldwide.
