
As part of the working visit of the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, to the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva. The talks between the parliamentary leaders of the two countries included specific issues aimed at raising brotherly relations to a new level.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized that due to the political will of the heads of state, Turkmen-Uzbek relations have acquired a strategic character. The role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the international legal system and in maintaining peace and stability in the region was especially noted.
In the course of the negotiations, the sides noted the importance of bringing cooperation to a new level by expanding economic and technological opportunities, exchanging experience in the legislative sphere, and activating the role of women and youth in inter-parliamentary relations.
Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova invited the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, T. Narbaeva, to participate in international and inter-parliamentary events to be held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone. These events, organized within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, are aimed at sharing positive experiences and discussing tasks for ensuring sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to develop inter-parliamentary relations with Uzbekistan in all areas. The mutual support of initiatives by the parliamentarians of the two countries on international platforms was highlighted as a key factor ensuring the stability of regional cooperation.
