
Turkmenistan's national under-20 football team (U-20) started its journey at the Central Asian Football Association "CAFA-2026" championship in Tajikistan with a brilliant victory. The team, led by Didar Hajyyev, managed to defeat the Afghanistan national team 3:1 in their first match of the tournament.
Yakupmuhammet Gowshudow stood out with an impressive performance during the game. Following the results of the match, he was awarded the "Most Valuable Player" (MVP) title, contributing significantly to the team's victory.
After their "winning start," a more serious test awaits our youth today, May 13. Turkmen footballers will take the field against the hosts of the tournament — the national team of Tajikistan.
