Chinese Scientists Study Brain Function Under Microgravity on Tiangong Station

The crew of the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft on the Tiangong orbital station has completed a series of experiments focused on brain activity in zero-gravity conditions. Taikonauts Zhang Lu, Wu Fei, and Zhang Hongzhan collected data using EEG technology to analyze cognitive performance and emotional reactions.

Beyond monitoring brain activity, the researchers investigated "intuitive physical behavior," studying how the brain perceives the physical world without gravity. Advanced tools, including a space-grade Raman spectrometer, were used to monitor metabolic processes. Launched on October 31, 2025, this mission provides vital insights for the preparation of long-duration deep-space exploration.
