Citizens of Turkmenistan reminded of safety rules when gas odor is detected indoors

The "Ashgabatgaz" Directorate published a reminder in the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper regarding the measures to be taken in case of a gas leak in residential buildings and urged citizens to comply with established safety regulations.

According to the agency's advice, if you smell gas, you must stop using gas appliances immediately, close all valves, and open windows and doors to ventilate the room. It is strictly forbidden to turn any electrical appliances on or off, as this action could trigger a fire.

The directorate also reminded of the basic rules for using gas equipment. Specifically, gas stoves should only be used when the window vent is open. Prolonged operation of appliances can increase carbon dioxide levels in the room, leading to poisoning. Operating gas appliances must not be left unattended. Young children and persons unfamiliar with gas safety rules should not be allowed to use them.
