The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has become the Platinum sponsor of the "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026" international conference and exhibition. The major international event will be held on October 21–23 in the city of Ashgabat.

The announcement of CNPC's partnership with OGT 2026 coincides with the 20th anniversary of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the gas sector. CNPC has been operating in Turkmenistan since 2007 and is currently participating in Phase IV of the development of the "Galkynysh" gas field.

As part of the project, it is planned to drill new production wells and build a gas treatment plant with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of commercial natural gas per year. According to the event organizers, upon full implementation of the project, more than 1,000 permanent jobs are expected to be created.

Another major project of energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and China is the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, commissioned in 2009. Currently, more than 30 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas are supplied to China annually through its three operating lines.

According to the organizers, by April 2026, the total volume of Turkmen natural gas supplied to China via the Turkmenistan-China pipeline exceeded 430 billion cubic meters.

The "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026" international conference and exhibition will bring together energy companies, investors, and industry specialists. During the event, issues related to developing gas fields, expanding export routes, introducing new technologies, and increasing environmental efficiency in the energy sector will be discussed.

OGT 2026 will serve as an important international platform for discussing new projects and international cooperation opportunities in Turkmenistan's energy sector.
