Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has officially tied the knot with his long-time partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez. The civil marriage ceremony took place in Portugal.

The Portuguese forward shared a picture on his social media account showing two hands wearing wedding rings—presumed to be his and his wife’s. Within just half an hour, the post garnered over three million likes.

Portuguese media outlets have dubbed the event the "wedding of the year." According to local reports, the couple officially registered their marriage on August 11 in the coastal town of Cascais, near Lisbon. All five of their children attended the intimate ceremony.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together for a decade. They first met at a Gucci boutique in Madrid, where Georgina was working as a sales assistant while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid. The couple announced their engagement exactly one year prior—on August 11—when Rodríguez shared a photo of a large engagement ring expressing her consent in Spanish.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has scored nearly 1,000 goals playing for Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, and the Portuguese national team. He recently appeared in his sixth World Cup, sharing the record for the most World Cup tournament appearances with Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
