A solemn cultural and educational event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of two brotherly states — Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan — was held at the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers".
Diplomatic mission staff, university faculty members, and Turkmen students studying in higher education institutions of Uzbekistan participated in the event.
During the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh. Meredov, and the Rector of the University, B. Mirzaev, delivered congratulatory speeches. The speeches highlighted the historical significance of independence in the sustainable development of both states, as well as the current high level of Turkmen-Uzbek relations based on the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and strategic partnership. Furthermore, the role of youth in further strengthening the friendly ties between the two countries was widely emphasized.
The concert program organized within the framework of the event showcased the richness of the cultural heritage of our country and Uzbekistan. Musical pieces dedicated to peace, friendship, and independence, performed by students in Turkmen and Uzbek languages, left a great impression on the attendees.
In their speeches, Turkmen youth studying in Uzbekistan expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. They expressed their appreciation to the Head of State and the National Leader for the constant care for the comprehensive development of the young generation, as well as for the broad opportunities created for obtaining high-quality education abroad.
