A delegation from the International University for the Humanities and Development is making an official visit to Kent State University aimed at further developing academic cooperation between the two higher education institutions.

The delegation of the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) is on an official visit to Kent State University in the United States from August 17 to 27. The main purpose of the visit is to further develop cooperation between the two higher education institutions, expand academic relations and study advanced practices in the field of higher education.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation is becoming familiar with the specific features of the US higher education system. Meetings with specialists from Kent State University address such issues as implementing dual-degree programmes, improving curricula in line with international standards, strengthening quality assurance in education and developing new academic programmes.

One of the main areas of the meetings is higher education quality assurance and international accreditation. Members of the delegation are studying experience in accreditation areas such as HLC, ABET and AACSB. They are also learning about advanced approaches to defining learning outcomes, evaluating academic programmes, improving assessment methods and enhancing the professional qualifications of teachers.

The parties are also discussing a roadmap that includes specific measures to develop the quality assurance system at IUHD and design new academic programmes.

Within the framework of the visit, particular attention is being paid to the admission of international students and providing them with academic support. During meetings with relevant specialists from Kent State University, the participants exchanged experience regarding admission procedures for international and master’s programmes, the development of the MBA programme, and services offered to international students.

The Turkmen delegation also became acquainted with the work of the university library. They received information about the OhioLINK and ILLiad systems, academic information resources, writing and tutoring services, as well as other academic opportunities available to students.

In addition, representatives of IUHD held meetings with the heads of Kent State University’s Honors and Global Education and Partnerships teams. During the visit, they toured university residence halls, the DI Hub, the Student Center and other facilities, gaining a close insight into the organisation of academic activities and student life.

The programme of the visit also included a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States. The organisation of cultural and public events contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and friendly relations between representatives of the two countries.

The visit of the Turkmen delegation to Kent State University is of significant importance for expanding international cooperation in higher education, adopting advanced academic practices and further developing the international opportunities of the Turkmen higher education institution.
