
A flower-laying ceremony was held at the “Halk hakydasy” memorial complex in Ashgabat in honor of the heroes who left an indelible mark on the Victory achieved in the Second World War. The event was organized to uphold the sacred memory of those who perished in the war and to pay tribute to the courage they displayed.
The ceremony was attended by heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, specifically the UK Ambassador Stephen Conlon and the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Turkmenistan Andrew Berdy. The diplomats laid bouquets of flowers at the memorial and bowed their heads before the soldiers who gave their lives for the sake of peace.
During the event, representatives emphasized the significance of the victory in the Second World War and the immense contributions of war heroes in restoring peace to the world. It was noted that the memories of the great heroism shown by our ancestors will remain in the memory of nations as a sacred heritage and serve as an example for future generations.
