Dubai Gold District, a shopping destination in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, plans to open the world’s first gold pedestrian walkway by the end of 2026. If completed as planned, the structure will be the first of its kind not only in Dubai but also worldwide, as well as the longest gold pedestrian walkway in the world.
According to Rashid Al-Hamoudi, Senior Commercial Director of Dubai Gold District, the new attraction is expected to open within the next two months. The project’s main objectives are to make the shopping destination more appealing to tourists and strengthen Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading gold trading hubs.
The new walkway will give local residents and international visitors the opportunity to stroll along a unique route decorated with gold. The initiative aims to expand the city’s tourism offerings while also increasing international interest in the gold and jewellery trade.
In addition, Dubai Gold District plans to establish a major exhibition complex dedicated to gold and jewellery trading. If the project goes ahead, it will become one of the largest exhibition venues of its kind in the Middle East.
The shopping destination is currently expanding its infrastructure to meet the growing needs of companies involved in gold and jewellery manufacturing and trading. Plans also include creating additional office and retail spaces for new businesses.
According to Rashid Al-Hamoudi’s forecast, the number of companies relocating their operations to Dubai Gold District is expected to increase by 10–20 percent over the coming year.
These projects are intended to strengthen Dubai’s position as an international tourism destination and increase its significance in the global gold and jewellery market.
