Today, in Turkmenistan, as in the entire Islamic world, one of the most important Muslim holidays, Eid al-Adha (Gurban Bayrami), is being celebrated. Early in the morning, festive prayers were performed in all mosques of the country. TDH reports about this.
Early in the morning, a certain part of our country's population gathered at the Turkmenbashi Spirituality Mosque in Kipchak, located 11 kilometers away from Ashgabat. This is the largest mosque not only in Turkmenistan but also in the whole of Central Asia. It can accommodate 10,000 people praying at the same time.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Haji Arkadag, attended the festive prayer. Also, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat arrived at the main mosque to share the festive joy with thousands of citizens of Turkmenistan.
After the completion of the prayer, the imam delivered a sermon, reminding the participants of the festive prayer of the importance of good deeds and compassion. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, Hero-Haji Arkadag addressed the gathered, wishing the people of Turkmenistan and all Muslims robust health, peace, and all the best.
This year, more than 3,000 pilgrims from our state of Turkmenistan traveled to the holy lands to fulfill their Hajj duty in Saudi Arabia.
In our country, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, all three days of the holiday—between May 27 and May 29—were declared official non-working days so that citizens could fully celebrate the holiday among their family members.
