An electronic system for exchanging advance information on goods and means of transport has been launched between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The new system began to be used in August 2026 for cargo transportation between the two countries.

The electronic exchange of information is carried out through information systems in accordance with the relevant agreement and its technical requirements concluded between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main feature of the new system is the electronic transmission of the necessary information about goods and means of transport to the relevant authorities before they arrive in the customs territory of Turkmenistan. Based on the information received, preliminary analysis is carried out, making it possible to prepare for the necessary customs procedures before the cargo arrives.

The introduction of electronic advance information exchange also creates a number of conveniences for carriers and other participants in foreign economic activity. In particular, the time required to complete customs procedures is reduced, the movement of goods across the customs border is accelerated, and the volume of paper documentation is decreased.

In addition, the system creates conditions for advance planning of international cargo transportation and more efficient organization of cargo movements. This represents an important step in developing trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and improving the efficiency of transport and logistics operations.

The mutual exchange of electronic data between the two countries not only increases the efficiency of customs control, but also makes it possible to further improve the quality and reliability of statistical data on bilateral trade.

The launch of the new system demonstrates the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the digitalization of customs procedures and the modernization of processes for moving goods across the border.
