
Yesterday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting summarized the results of work carried out in the country in 2025 and heard reports from Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, several ministers, and regional governors. Tasks for socio-economic development in 2026 and personnel matters were also discussed.
According to the reports, GDP growth in 2025 amounted to 6.3 percent. Growth rates were 1.8 percent in industry, 7.9 percent in construction, 9.8 percent in transport and communications, 9.6 percent in trade, 7 percent in agriculture, and 7.5 percent in services.
Compared to 2024, total production increased by 10.2 percent. Retail turnover rose by 13.2 percent. The average wage increased by 11.9 percent. The state budget was executed at 101.5 percent on revenues and 99.7 percent on expenditures.
In 2025, 76.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 8.38 million tons of oil were produced.
For 2026, it is planned to maintain GDP growth at 6.3 percent, create about 5,300 new jobs, increase the share of the private sector to 72.9 percent, and invest approximately 41.2 billion manats into the national economy.
The President signed the Resolution approving the Socio-Economic Development and Investment Program of Turkmenistan for 2026.
