The reporting and elective conference of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan (TTF) was held in our capital city, Ashgabat. At the meeting, which was attended by 35 delegates from all regions of our country and the capital, the candidacy of 35-year-old master of sports Eziz Dovletov was unanimously supported, and he was elected to the position of head of the organization for a new four-year term.
Under the leadership of Eziz Dovletov, the country's Tennis Federation has achieved great success in sports diplomacy in recent years. He is also the Vice-President of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and a member of the ITF world working group, which organizes the international-level "Davis Cup" and "Billie Jean King Cup" competitions.
During the conference, it was especially highlighted that the international tennis community highly appreciates Turkmenistan's achievements in this area. The Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan was recognized by the ATF as one of the fastest-growing organizations in Asia. Furthermore, the Tennis Complex of the Olympic Village in our capital gained the status of a Training Center for the Asian region. The visits of the heads of the International and Asian Tennis Federations to Ashgabat, alongside the designation of the Turkmen capital as the "City of New Sports Opportunities" of the Commonwealth, became crucial steps in this direction.
The educational system of the TTF currently holds an official ITF license, which allows the organization to independently certify coaches. A special place in the federation's activities is held by the agreement reached with the Russian International Olympic University and the socially significant project "Wheelchair Tennis," implemented jointly with UNICEF.
Along with these, the results of Turkmen tennis players on international platforms have also visibly improved:
Men's national team: competed for the first time in the "ITF Master’s" World Championship, entering the ranks of the world's top 8 teams, and confidently restored its position in Group IV of the Asia/Oceania zone of the "Davis Cup." Women's national team: awarded the silver medal in the zonal competition of the "Billie Jean King Cup." Ilima Guseynova: achieved a historic milestone by becoming the Asian number two seed among girls under 14. Youth national team: the under-16 boys represented the country in the final stage of the youth "Davis Cup" for the first time. Meanwhile, Nyazli Hudaygulyýewa and Sulgun Ishankulyýewa won a major victory at the qualifying championship in Bahrain, making a confident stride toward the 2027 youth Grand Slam tournaments. At the end of the conference, the new composition of the federation's Executive Committee was approved. Ezizmurat Annamuradov, Nikolay Sheguns, Ata Eyeberdiyev, and Mirali Gasanov were elected as vice-chairmen of the TTF, while Ogultach Gurbanberdiyeva was elected as the general secretary.
