A special festival dedicated to Indian cinematography will take place in the city of Ashgabat. The event is organized by the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan.

The festival of Indian films will be held in Ashgabat from August 14 to August 16, 2026. The film screenings will be open to all interested viewers, alongside members of the Indian diaspora.

The festival will take place at the cinema located at 115 Magtymguly Avenue, Ashgabat. Over the course of three days, audiences will be able to enjoy famous works of Indian cinema produced across different years.

The festival program includes the following films:

  • August 14 (Friday) at 17:00

    🎬 "Dangal" — a sports drama released in 2016.

  • August 15 (Saturday) at 17:00

    🎬 "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (The Brave-Hearted Will Take the Bride) — a romantic comedy from 1995.

  • August 16 (Sunday) at 11:00

    🎬 "Chak De! India" (Go! India / Forward, India!) — a sports drama released in 2007.

Admission to all film screenings of the festival will be free of charge. Viewers can take seats in the cinema hall on a first-come, first-served basis without prior registration.

The Indian film festival will give audiences the opportunity to explore India's rich culture, traditions, and modern values, as well as get a closer look at Indian cinema art, which is one of the unique branches of world cinematography.
