In Turkmenistan, the dates and locations for the selection testing under the FLEX international educational program for the 2026–2027 academic year have been announced. Testing will take place in January 2026 across five regions — Ashgabat, Mary, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat, and Balkanabat.
The FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) program is implemented by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, administered by the American Councils for International Education. It gives Turkmen high school students the opportunity to spend an academic year in the U.S., living with a host American family and attending a local school.
Eligible participants are Turkmen secondary school students born between January 1, 2009, and May 31, 2010, with good or excellent grades and proficiency in English. Graduating students who are scheduled for military service are not eligible to participate.
According to the schedule, testing will begin on January 4, 2026, in Mary and conclude on January 11 in Ashgabat. In all cities, exams will start at 9:00 AM and will be conducted at general education schools.
Additional information is available at the American Councils office in Ashgabat, on the official website, https://americancouncilstm.org/flex/ or via email.
