During the New Year holidays, the “Miwe” agricultural industrial association of Lebap velayat presented fresh fruits and vegetables for the population’s festive tables. Nearly 40 varieties of fruits and about 30 types of vegetable and melon crops harvested in summer and autumn have been stored in refrigeration facilities until today.
The powerful cold storage facility, commissioned in 2012, can store up to one thousand tons of produce and supply it to markets in fresh condition. For this purpose, all necessary conditions have been created in its ten chambers. Each product is stored at the required temperature, enhancing the sweetness and richness of the fruits. Vegetables and melon crops are kept in separate chambers under the supervision of specialists.
These cold storage facilities were built near the fruit and vegetable packaging plant in the city of Turkmenabat, which proved beneficial for both sides. Currently, a large portion of the enterprise’s packaged products is stored in these warehouses. Packaging enterprises from nearby districts also place part of their produce in this cold storage complex.
Contracts have been signed with several gardeners of the velayat to purchase fruit products and store them in refrigeration facilities. Therefore, today’s markets attract attention with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables grown on the fertile land of our country.
Fully ripened and sweet fruits decorate festive tables. Their taste and aroma are distinctive. Syrups, jams, and concentrates packaged in glass containers of various sizes have also become popular products. Local entrepreneurs competing with them have begun offering their products in attractive packaging.
The number of entrepreneurs introducing their own production using advanced foreign technologies continues to grow in the velayat. This time, along with various beverages, they also offered honey, dried melon, as well as bananas, lemons, and oranges.
