Fully Renovated Locomotives Begin Freight Transport

To increase freight turnover and carry out major overhauls, a contract was signed between Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Railways’ joint-stock company “Demirýollary” and China’s locomotive manufacturer “CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd.”

Under the contract, 20 (twenty) freight locomotives were fully overhauled at the manufacturer’s facilities in China, and all of them have now been delivered to Turkmenistan. These locomotives are now in operation, transporting transit, export, and import cargo. This was reported by «railway.gov.tm».

The major overhauls increased the locomotives’ mobility, traction power, and efficiency. The installation of modern equipment during the overhaul in China has created significant capabilities for transporting large volumes of cargo over long distances.
