Georgia attaches special importance to the further development of political and economic relations with Central Asian states. This was stated by Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at a government meeting.

According to him, cooperation with Central Asian countries occupies an important place in Georgia's foreign policy. Georgia acts as one of the key transport and logistics hubs connecting Central Asian states with the Western space via the Black Sea.

"We attach special importance to our relations with Central Asian countries in developing Georgia's connecting role," the Prime Minister noted. He stated that the government will continue its efforts to further deepen political, trade, and economic relations with Central Asian states in the future.

Irakli Kobakhidze also drew attention to high-level meetings held with Central Asian countries in 2026. During his official visit to Kazakhstan in June, strategic partnership was established between the two countries.

In addition, within the framework of the visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tbilisi, relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan were elevated to a strategic level.

The head of the Georgian government also recalled his official visits to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in June. A number of bilateral agreements were signed during the visits.

Turkmenistan also occupies an important place in relations between Central Asia and Georgia. In July, during the official visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Georgia, a number of agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in various fields were signed between Ashgabat and Tbilisi.

The current relations between the parties create new opportunities for developing transport and logistics, trade and economic cooperation, and interregional connectivity. Georgia's intentions to deepen cooperation with Central Asian countries demonstrate its goal to further intensify relations in this direction in the future.
