Growth of Cargo Transportation by Transport in Turkmenistan Reached 101.4 Percent

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyyev reported at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held in digital format on Friday on the results of work carried out in the supervised structures in January 2026. As noted, during the reporting period the growth rate of cargo transportation by road, rail, air, sea and river transport amounted to 101.4 percent, while the growth rate of passenger transportation reached 103.4 percent.

According to reports from Turkmenistan’s official media, in January 2026 the growth rate of work performed and services rendered in the transport and communications complex amounted to 113.3 percent.

The Vice-Premier also reported that during the reporting period the growth rate of services provided by the Ministry of Railway Transport amounted to 106.7 percent, by the Ministry of Automobile Transport to 120.9 percent, by the State Service “Turkmenhowayollary” to 119.8 percent, by the State Service of Maritime and River Transport to 102.6 percent, and by the Ministry of Communications to 113 percent.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of consistently strengthening and modernizing the material and technical base of the national transport system. In this regard, the Head of State instructed the Vice-Premier to attach great importance to increasing the volume of passenger and cargo turnover, transit and international cargo transportation, as well as to pay special attention to improving the quality of communication services provided to the population.
