Three of the six reactor units at France's Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant have been forced to halt operations following a massive influx of jellyfish. This was reported by rg.ru, citing statements from energy operator Electricité de France (EDF).

According to the company's press service, the swarm of jellyfish impelled operators to stop reactors No. 3 and No. 4 in strict accordance with plant safety operational guidelines. Currently, reactor No. 6 continues to operate at full capacity, alongside ongoing management of the situation across other units.

EDF confirmed that the incident has posed no threat to equipment safety, plant personnel, or the surrounding environment.

The Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant is located in northern France on the coast of the North Sea, using seawater drawn directly from the North Sea for its essential reactor cooling systems.
